A portable device with network connectivity, a large amount of storage and audio, visual and tactile input and output.
Rationale
The Personal Information Appliance is an effort to converge a number
of small, portable electronic devices into a single product.
Features
The device is minimalist and functional, with a focus on providing facilities for audio, visual and tactile input and output for the user, wireless Internet connectivity and storage.
The personal information appliance has a touch screen covering the full front face, with a camera set in the top side of the frame, a microphone at the bottom and a speaker on each side. The rear of the device has a camera and microphone for capturing audio and video from the user's environment.
The top edge of the device houses the power/reset button, the only physical button on the device. The bottom edge houses a combined power and data connection (USB) and the left and right sides have slots for a battery and data storage respectively.

The Personal Information Appliance could be used as a portable Web Servent.
